Where to canoe in the Lot?

Would you like to contemplate a raw and green landscape, some of the most beautiful villages in France or the Occitan limestone cliffs? Depending on your aspirations, there are different canoeing spots to choose from in the Lot. Many canoe-kayak rental establishments are located near our Lot campsite.

Copeyre Canoe

Copeyre is an amusement park which offers 12 canoe bases from Argentat to Beynac. In total, the establishment offers 72 canoe routes to choose from across the Lot, Corrèze and Dordogne.
As for canoeing in the Lot, the Copeyre circuits extend over a good part of the communes in the north of the department. From Souillac to Puybrun via Meyronne and Pinsac, you will find a route adapted to your level. Families with children can opt for a few hours on the water, while experienced paddlers can go on an adventure for several days.

Canoe Cape

Cap Evasion rents canoes in Saint-Julien-de-Lampon to glide down the river and explore the Dordogne and Lot valley, from Beynac to Cazoulès. The routes are focused on different themes depending on the profile of the vacationers, but also depending on the time you want to devote to your nature activity.
For example, the canoe circuit near the Lot (Cazoulès-Saint-Julien-de-Lampon) is characterized by a wild panorama. Ideal if you're banking on a change of scenery! The route is particularly suitable for a first experience in canoeing, because the current is light and allows easy handling of your boat.

Le Lot Canoe Kayak

The Floiras nautical base is located on the banks of the river in Anglars-Juillac. This establishment is located a little further south of our campsite in Loupiac. The base canoe route extends from Cahors to Fumel. During your walk on the water, you will see the Valentré bridge or the village of Puy-Levêque perched on its small hill.
Besides canoeing, you can rent a motor boat or go stand-up paddleboarding. And if you prefer land-based activities, mountain bike rental is still an option.

Why canoeing in the Lot?

There are so many good reasons to canoe in the Lot. This activity allows you to admire the treasures of Lot from the river. On your boat, you enjoy a better position to contemplate the riches of the department in all their splendor.
In and around the department, you will find different rivers, each offering different views of their shores. Alternate between green and wild banks, banks dotted with centuries-old castles or even remarkable white cliffs during your stroll on the water.
In addition, you can take advantage of breaks to cool off in the water. The rivers in the region are suitable for swimming and have nothing to envy of the sea. Moreover, beautiful beaches are located along the canoe routes in the Lot. This is enough to avoid mass tourism on the coasts and still enjoy a vacation with your feet in the water!
